Obituary

Willie Lawerance Alexander Jr. ("Mr. Willie and Uncle Willie), born April 15, 1949 entered into eternal rest on May 1, 2022.  Willie was born in Buncombe County and graduated from T.C. Roberson High School in 1968. After graduation, he left for New Jersey where he furthered his education at Rutgers University and Upsala College obtaining a degree in Education. He taught 8th Grade Reading and Math and later entered into a career in promotional advertising retiring after 30+ years of service. In his retirement, Willie returned to his childhood home in Arden, NC and reunited with best friend and life partner/companion Ellen McDaniel.  

Willie Alexander was preceded in death by his father, Willie Lawrence Alexander Sr., brothers, Blane Alexander, Michael Alexander, Kenneth Alexander, Anthony Alexander and niece, Chasity Trexler. 

Left to cherish his memory are his mother Ovenia C. Alexander of Arden NC, daughters L. Nicole Alexander Haywood (William) of Jacksonville, Fl, Simone Alexander(Hakim) of Trenton, NJ, sons Willie L. Alexander III (Mandy) of Caldwell, NJ, Jayson Alexander of Harlem, NY, Ellen's three children Crystal Henderson, David Henderson, and Brandon Shivers, brothers Dana Alexander (Kimbra) of Arden, NC, and Shawn Alexander (Sheila) of Fletcher, NC, sisters Barbara Cannon (Ron) of Corpus Christi, TX, Devon Williamson of Arden, NC, Wanda Alexander-Redice (Michael) of Fletcher, NC, Tichelle A. Williams (Ernest) of Brevard, NC, Djuana M. Alexander of Bradley Beach, NJ, and Kim A. Allen (Amun Ra Ogun) of Arden, NC. Three grandchildren, Brandon, Savoux, Willie IV, Raven, and Tyler, along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.  

Mr. Willie L. Alexander, Jr. will be laid to rest in a private family service.
