Vina M. Jackson Black a native of Marion, NC was called home January 31, 2022.  She was the daughter of the late Rosa Jackson and Roy Jackson.

She was married to the late Willie L. Black for 63 years.

Mrs. Black is preceded in death by her children, Kathleen Black Kelly, Billy Joe Black and Josephine Black. 

She is survived by seven children, sons; Roger Black of Asheville, Dennis Black of Atlanta, Ga, Willie Black of Atlanta, Ga, Bobby Black of Asheville, Mark Black of Asheville, daughters; Violet Black Scott of Asheville and Angela Black Jackson of Atlanta, Ga., sons-in-law; Oundra Scott, Randy Jackson, daughters-in-law; Cassandra Warren Black, Renita Giles Black, Rochelle Mapp Black, sister-in-law Barbara Ann Harbison, 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. 

A Funeral Service to honor the life of Mrs. Vina M. Jackson Black will be held on Tuesday February 8th, at 12pm at Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church located at 100 Carroll Ave in Asheville. She will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery. Viewing will be held at Avery's Memorial Chapel on Monday February 7th, from 10am - 7pm. The funeral service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
