Travis (Tra) Darnelle Roberts

Travis Darnelle Roberts age 40, and a life-long resident of Asheville, passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2021 at his residence.   Travis was born in Asheville on January 5, 1981 to his parents

Fannita E. Roberts and Larry D. Harper. He attended Asheville High School and later attended Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College where he received a degree in Culinary Arts, which was one of the many passions he had. He also worked alongside his mother at Squeaky Complete Cleaning Service. Travis who was also known as "Boss Hog" and "Tra", didn't have any biological children but did have two boys he helped raise, and loved dearly like they were his own. Many people loved him and enjoyed his presence. If "being humorous" had an additional definition, Travis would be the name beside it. He also loved collecting knives, comic books, cooking and trying different foods, and was the energy in the room wherever he appeared. He was also a problem solver who enjoyed taking on difficult projects around the house. Tra was a handy man! Travis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all that knew him.  Other than his parents, he is also survived by a brother Jarvis Roberts (Tracie), sister's Monica Harper, Tanisha Wilkins (Kelvin), and Rashelia Roberts, one niece, four nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Travis is preceded in death by his girlfriend Faris Ward, maternal grandmother Marion Beverly, paternal grandparents Carson and Rebecca Harper, uncles Ronnie Harper, Mike Harper, and Perry Roberts, and aunts Anita K. Roberts and Carol Tillman.    

A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Travis Roberts will be held at Beulah Chapel Holiness Church located on 102 South French Broad Ave. in Asheville, at 2pm on Saturday June 5th. Viewing will be held on June 4th from 12pm - 7pm at Avery's Memorial Chapel. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's FB page
