Ms. Sue Etta Mosely, daughter of the late Mary Hawthrone and the late Grayson Whitmire, was born May 11, 1937, in Asheville, NC. She departed this life on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
She leaves an unfillable void in the lives of her family and friends, yet they find comfort in the memories they share.
Mrs. Sue Etta was a member of the City-Wide Usher Board and Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully. She was a faithful, humble, loving, caring, kind and giving women with a sweet spirit. Her life and legacy were living and working for the Lord which is a testimony to her family and all who knew her. She walked Eastview every morning picking up trash, watching kids get on the school bus, and just being the leader she was. Sue Etta lived a life filled with passion and service towards others.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Skeet” Mosely, Sr., daughter Susie “Sissy” Mosely, son Keith “Keddie “Mosely, son Robert “Junie” Mosely, Jr., grandson Keith “Deuce” Mosely Jr., and stepson Gary Mosely.
Mrs. Sue Etta is survived by her daughter Regina Diane Whiteside (Quintin Jackson) 14 grands, 24 great grands, 3 great great-grands, sister Joann Harper, brother Johnny Whitmire, Sr. (Robin), special friends Judy McMahan, Mary Poore, Claudia Tucker, Brenda Clement, Rose Whitmire, Joanna Johnson, Marche Morgan, Bennie Mcintosh, Fred Payne and Johana Johnson.
A Funeral Service to honor the life of Sue Etta will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church (146 Pine St.), at 2pm. She will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be held at Sunset Cemetery immediately following the service. Viewing will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Avery's Memorial Chapel from 1pm - 7pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
