Sonja Michele (Gibbs) Jones

On December 24, 2022, a bright light was extinguished when Sonja Michele Jones took her last breath.

Sonja was born in Augusta, GA on November 2, 1963, to Sandra L. Warren. Sonja was a sassy, stubborn, strong-willed woman with a heart of gold. Anyone who knew Sonja knows that she never held her tongue and would tell you exactly how she felt. You also knew that her bark was loud, but the love she had for her family was even louder. She has left a permanent void that no one can fill and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.

Sonja was preceded in death by the woman she loved and looked up to most, her mother Sandra L Warren. She is survived by her husband Fredrick Jones Sr., her children Fredrick Jones Jr. (I’Juana), Satorria Jones, and Shamóne Jones, her grandchildren Sumyah Jones and Kane Underwood, her sisters Sonita Warren-Dixon, Shonia Gibbs, and Shaka Britton (Shaun), and her nieces and nephews.

A small, intimate celebration will be held, at a later date, for those friends and loved ones that Sonja held dear to her heart.
