Sharon Hadden Obituary

(Due to Covid-19 concerns, all who attend the funeral are REQUIRED to wear a face mask and practice social distancing)

On October 3, 1948, God sent Sharon Marita Hadden to bless us with her presence. On February 16, 2021, God welcomed his “good and faithful” servant back home with open arms; where she joined her Parents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles. Sharon was the only child of late Jacqueline and Theodore Hadden, of Asheville, NC.

Sharon accepted Christ at an early age while attending Berry Temple United Methodist Church. She was a member of the choir and worked in the church until it merged with Calvary Presbyterian Church.

Sharon attended Stephens-Lee High School where she was a member of the band and played the clarinet. She graduated from the first class of South French Broad High School in 1966 and then attended North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C. where she graduated with a degree in Business. Sharon loved her alma mater so much that she worked for the university as an Administrator until retirement. After retirement she returned home to Asheville to be with her family and went on several cruises (traveling to Florida by bus) and enjoyed attending her class reunion outings with old classmates and friends.

In her early years, she enjoyed going to “the country” (Catawba) every summer to play with her cousins at Camp meeting. As she got older, she became an avid sports fan; always watching basketball and football, especially her Duke Blue Devils. In the more recent times, she would say that the game was “watching her” instead of her watching the game!

Sharon was a very “private” and deliberate woman! Even as a child, she always knew what she wanted (or didn’t) and wasn’t shy about letting you know it! She was also very giving and supportive to her friends and family. She would give the shirt off of her back to those she believed to be in need. Sharon had a heart of gold.

Although Sharon had no children of her own, she was “mother” to several cousins (and each of you know just how special you were and always will be to her). She loved and supported all of you! As you know, when she loved, she loved unconditionally! Sharon leaves to lament, her last remaining aunt, Joyce Moore Johnson, of Levittown, PA., a host of cousins, relatives, and friends. Sharon’s memory will forever be cherished by all. She will forever be in our hearts.
