Ms. Shamika Lyles' life was cut short unexpectedly on Thursday, November 10, 2022. She was Born on October 9, 1993, to the late Aretha Oliver and Ken Lyles.
Mika attended Buncombe County Schools, and graduated A.C. Reynolds High School in 2012. She was a security officer at the Asheville Mall for several years. Mika moved to Morganton, NC several years ago to make a wonderful life for her and her son. She never met a stranger and made friends easily. She was very much loved. Mika dedicated her services and volunteered at Raise Up the South, a non-profit organization. She and her son faithfully attended church in Morganton, NC.
Mika loved traveling to Asheville to spend time with her nephews. She was very close to and supportive of her brother Kendrick Chalk. Jasmine Harris and Arielle Harris, although not blood sisters, were loved as if they were her very own sisters. Mika was close to and regularly communicated with them.
Left to cherish her memories are her son Lamarius Lyles, Father Kenneth Lyles (Tabatha), brothers Kendrick Chalk, Kendal Lyles, Teynqua Lyles, Jamal Fisher, Javon Lyles, Tyree Lyles and other family and friends. She will always have a special place in our hearts and will be sorely missed.
A Memorial Service to honor the life of Ms. Shamika Lyles will be held Saturday November 19th, at First Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church (146 Pine St.), at 1pm. The memorial service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
