Rosalee (Babe)  Payton Goggans, 75, of Fletcher, NC, passed away on July 12, 2021. She was born to James Lee Payton and Bessie Lanning Payton, on May 17, 1946 in Asheville, NC.

Rosalee graduated from Stephens Lee High School, Class of 1963. She worked at Volvo Construction Equipment, Asheville Transit, and Buncombe County Schools and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rosalee enjoyed gardening, yard sales, and visiting with family and friends. She never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings James Payton Jr., Frances Conley, Mary Laffittee, and Geneva Woody and special nephew, Alexander Douglas. Rosalee is survived by son Terry Payton (Lana), grandson Trevor Payton, special nephew Jeremy Payton (Summer), siblings Joyce Martin (John), Debra Harper (Harry) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service to honor the life of Mrs. Rosalee Payton Goggans will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 2:00pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church located on 537 Concord Road in Fletcher, NC.  Reverend Odell Suber, Sr., Reverend Darrell Sullivan and Reverend Shadrack Waters will officiate the ceremony. Burial will be held immediately following at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Friday, July 16th from 12pm - 7pm at Avery's Memorial Chapel located on 542 Hendersonville Road, Asheville and also on Saturday one hour prior to the service. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's FB page.
