Roland "Ro-Ro" Leo Dodd went home to be with our LORD on Thursday December 12th. His early childhood education was in Hendersonville, NC and he received his General Education Development Diploma (GED) in December 2013. Roland was a jack of all trades and held various positions in carpentry, management, and a master of the culinary arts.
He went through a rough patch at one time, after which he found Christ in 2008 and turned his life around. At that time, he attended First Baptist Church of Hendersonville and later became a member of Contemporary First Baptist Church also in Hendersonville. Roland kept on his spiritual journey after relocating to Delaware where he attended Pilgrim Baptist Church in Newark, DE.
Ro-Ro was preceded in death by his great-grandmother Myrtle Dodd whom he cherished, his father Roland Leo Terry, his grandmother, and his brothers Keith and Kent Collington.
He was a dedicated husband who loved his family dearly, was fun to be around, was a DIE HARD EAGLE FAN (HE BLED GREEN) and enjoyed life with his wife.
Roland is survived by his devoted wife Cora Dodd, mother Myrtle Dodd-O’Neil, 2 sisters Donna Collington and Debbie Roundtree, brother Jeffrey Collington, daughters Breanna and Krystal Dodd, Denise Boyd (Rodney), Charlene Toliver (Lavon), sons Rashod Dodd (Sha), Carl Daniels Jr. (Aisha), Raymond Daniels (Sheryle), 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other friends.
Services for Mr. Roland "Ro-Ro" Dodd will be held on Saturday December 21st at 12pm, at Contemporary First Baptist Church (429 Harris St. Hendersonville, NC). Viewing will be from 10am - 12pm at the church. Burial will immediately follow the services at St. Mark United Methodist Church (901 St. Mark Rd Taylors, SC)
