Phyllis Boyd Obituary
On Thursday, October 11, 2018, Phyllis “Ann” Johnson Boyd passed away suddenly at the age of 71. She was the daughter of the late Glenn Johnson and Mamie Pough.
Phyllis worked over the years at CII, Wagners, Carfott, RCA and other manufacturing jobs.
She was a dedicated member of Fairmount Baptist Church in Asheville were she was a member of the senior choir and treasury board. She loved fishing and cooking.
Phyllis was married to the late Jackie “G.S.” Boyd for 52 years.
Left to cherish her memories are her children; Frananda Boyd, of Asheville, NC, Jackie (Janice) Boyd Sr., of Flat Rock, NC, and Leonora Boyd of Asheville, NC, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren that are on the way; siblings; Viola Stribblings, Glenn Anna Credle and Eddie F. Johnson, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a special son she took under her wings, Jerome ( Shorty) Patton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 16th at 2pm, at the Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church, at 486 Caribou Road, Asheville, NC. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service.
