Perry Roger Shippy (63) of Swannanoa, NC went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 28, 2022 at Mission Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Born on March 22, 1959 to the late Leroy and Dorothrea Shippy, Perry was the youngest of 6 boys.

Perry received his G.E.D and was self-employed. He enjoyed working on cars, landscaping and painting. He truly was a jack of all trades and the life of the party to all who knew him. Perry loved life and his infectious smile would brighten a room. He had a love for kids, cars and dogs.

He is preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Shippy, brother Alma Shippy and sister-in-law Connie Shippy.

Perry is survived by three brothers: Glenn Shippy (Dianne) of Sprinfield, MA, Calvin Shippy and Michael Shippy of Swannanoa, NC. three stepsons; Maurice Young (Tasha), Chrisshawn Young and Willie Cappell, Jr. all of Asheville, NC, five nieces; Veronica Shippy, Tonya Shippy of Springfield, MA, Ina Shippy of Raleigh, NC, Elizabeth Hester and Delynn Patterson of Gary, IN, Aunt Willie-Mae Davison, a special friend Christy Leigh, sixteen step-grands, two special grand-nieces Ebony and Makayla and a host of family and friends that will cherish his memories.

A Memorial Service to honor the life Mr. Perry Roger Shippy will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 1:00pm at New Salem Baptist Church in Swannanoa, NC.
