Nancy Jane Wilson

Nancy Jane Wilson, 64 of Asheville, was born in New Hampshire on June 11, 1954. Nancy exhaled here and inhaled in heaven into the arms of her Savior whom she loved with all her heart at 2:16 am on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her mother Marie Cecil Gilbert Wilson and father James Herbert Wilson.

Nancy was a 1972 graduate of Asheville High School. She was a homecare health professional, providing love and care for many families from 1971-1986 prior to her employment at First Baptist Church Child Enrichment Center where she took care of hundreds of children during her 26 years tenure before retiring in 2017.

Left to cherish her memory is her sisters Juanita Fitts (Conrad) of Concord, JoAnne Gilley of Gastonia, nieces; Melissa Gilley and Sara Plourde, special cousins; Pam Creasman, Patsy Bradley (Jerry), Michelle & Teddy Maynor, adopted family, Rev. Dr. Jack R. & Sarah Gassaway, Amanda Gassaway Rigsby (Victor) Richard Gassaway, nephews; Luke, Levi Gassaway, Caleb Rigsby, nieces; Ashley Rigsby Jacobs (Devin), Hannah Rigsby (Brandon Banks) & Tori Rigsby, great nieces and nephews; Skylon, Devin Aidon, Elijah & Landon.

She is also survived by the entire Congregation of Richland Baptist Church, best friend Sarah Ferguson, special friends; Vera Freck, Geraldine Nicholson, Rod & Julie Crowder & Carol Crayton.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at Richland Baptist Church at 6:00pm on Friday, May 3rd.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 4th, at Green Hills Cemetery.

Flowers are appreciated and accepted. In lieu of flowers you may, upon Nancy’s request, make memorial contributions be in her memory to the Richland Baptist Church Youth & Children’s Ministry or the Richland Baptist Church Fellowship Ministry.
