Mykel Waters

Mykel Waters, 31 of Hendersonville, NC, was called by his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 24, 2023. He was brought inside this earth on January 8, 1992, in Hendersonville. He is the son of Michael Waters and Dora Clayton of Hendersonville. Mykel was a blessing to his family, and everyone who met him said he was a very loyal friend who loved his family. Mykel always had a big smile on his face, and he was always “hug ready” every time he was with his family and friends. He was a joy to be around with his positive energy and his unconditional love.

Mykel will forever be remembered and is survived by his sisters Shanika Dunbar and Lashonda Clayton, both of Hendersonville, brothers Traejan Stephens of New Jersey, Malik Waters of Hendersonville, and Rico Waters of Arden, grandmothers Linda Waters of Arden and Dora Clayton of Hendersonville, grandfather Clifford Edward Waters of Hendersonville, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service to honor the life of Mykel will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church (901 Robinson Terrace, Hendersonville, NC) at 2pm. He will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will immediately follow the service at Oakdale Cemetery in Hendersonville. Viewing will be held at Worldwide Tabernacle Baptist Church (85 Choctaw St. Asheville), on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 1pm - 7pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
