Morris Chatman Fletcher, aka “Rambo and Chuck”, was born May 7, 1951, in Cordele, Georgia to Late Eddie Fletcher, and the late Doris Fletcher. He departed this life on September 4, 2025, to be with his Heavenly Father.
He graduated from Lakeshore Jr. & Sr. High School (Class of 1969) and joined the US Air Force in 1970. He returned to Belle Glade after 14 years of service. Morris later moved to Asheville, NC, where he met the love of his life and lifelong companion, Justine Baird. He worked at Borne Brick and Veron Green Concrete, and his last job was as a supervisor for JC Penney, and Sears Janitorial Service.
He became a faithful member of Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church in Asheville, NC.
Other than his parents, Morris was preceded in death by his brothers Sergeant Major Kenneth K. Fletcher, Sr., and Curtis Thomas, and devoted best friend Grady Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life and lifelong companion Justine Baird, his daughter Vonsheila Hatcher of Jacksonville, FL, son Morris Chatman, Jr. (Delouris), of West Palm Beach, FL, one sister Maxine Fletcher Summersett, brothers Gary Fletcher (Annie), Eddie Fletcher, III, (Lena) and Le’Andre Fletcher (Corey), his adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service to honor the life of Morris will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church (146 Pine St.), at 2pm. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. He can be viewed at Avery's Memorial Chapel on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 1pm - 5pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
