Montrel Baird Obituary

Montrel L. Baird was born on November 20, 2011, to his loving parents, Louis M. Baird and Shakela L. Heard. From the very beginning, Montrel was a precious gift —bringing light, laughter, and warmth into the lives of everyone blessed to know him.

Montrel attended the Buncombe Country School system where he was a student at Estes Elementary School and Valley Springs Middle School. He brightened hallways and classrooms alike with his contagious smile and gentle spirit. Teachers and classmates adored him, drawn to his kind heart and the joy he so naturally shared.

Montrel was truly full of life. His smile could light up any room, and his sweet, loving personality made it impossible not to fall in love with him. Whether through laughter, or simply his presence, Montrel left a lasting impression wherever he went. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave will remain in our hearts forever.

Welcoming Montrel home in glory are his beloved great-grandmothers Vonda J. Heard and Corneila Nelson.

He leaves behind a family who will cherish his beautiful memory always: his devoted parents Louis Baird and Shakela Heard, his grandparents Jermaine Heard, Sr., LaKeisha Whitener, and Michael Baird, and great-grandparents Donald Norris and Pearley Simmons. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings Aniyah Baird, Zuriyah Baird, and Brandon Chapman, along with seven uncles, four aunts, nine cousins, and a host of extended family members, teachers, and dear friends.

Montrel’s life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and purpose. He will forever be remembered as a bright light—our sweet son, brother, grandson, nephew, student, and friend, whose love will continue to shine in our hearts until we meet again!

Montrel will be laid to rest during a private family memorial.
