Michael Ruff received his wings on October 20, 2021. He was born on June 4, 1955 and was the eighth child born to the late Stanley and Margaret Suber Ruff.

He was a graduate of Asheville High School and a member of Nazareth First Missionary Baptist church. Michael was employed at the Grove Park Inn and Mission Hospital. He loved to fish.

In addition to his parents Michael is preceded in death by his brother Ervin Ruff.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Cassie, Justin, and Chris, sisters Evelyn Lewis, Dorothy Jeter, and Violet Bowman (Harrison), brothers Harold (Daisy), Donald, and Phillip Ruff (Sharon), and several other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Michael Ruff will be held on Thursday, October 28th at 1:00pm at Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church located at 146 Pine Street in Asheville. Visitation with the family will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Viewing will be held at Avery’s Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 27th from 11am - 7pm.  The service will be lived streamed on Avery’s Memorial Chapel's Face Book page.
