Mary Anne McDavid Payne of 299 Brooklyn Rd, Asheville, North Carolina was born November 26, 1955 in Belton, South Carolina to the late Janie Lee McDavid Brown. As a child, she was taught the principle of holiness and accepted the Lord as her personal Savior.

After moving to Asheville, she met and married Mr. Frederick Alonzo Payne. To this union two (2) beautiful children were born; Crystal and Frederick II.

Her employment history included Wachovia Bank, MAHEC and she ultimately retired from Mission Hospital.

Mary Anne was truly a faithful Woman of God! Not only did she walked the life... she taught it, lived it and LOVED it! She was a devoted wife, loving mother, dedicated daughter, supportive sister, caring aunt and a loyal friend. She always exemplified precepts and examples of holiness in her life and never shied away from sharing the word of God.

As a member of Sycamore Temple, Mary Anne served as Church Secretary, Financial Secretary, Choir President, Trustee Board Chairperson and Prayer and Bible Band teacher.  She also served along with her husband as a Prayer Warrior.

Mary Anne’s singing ability was a gift from God and she always sang under the anointing. She was also gifted to speak and one of her favorite sayings is “When I think of the goodness of Jesus, and ALL he's done for me, my SOUL cries out HALLELUJAH, I thank God for saving me!” Even until the end she always had her trust in God.

Mary Anne was preceded in death by her mother Janie McDavid Brown, and sisters Deborah McDavid and Dianne Humphrey.

Left to cherish her memory are husband of 40 years Deacon Frederick A. Payne, daughter Crystal Payne, son Frederick Payne, II, sister Joye Stacey (Curtis), brothers Thomas Brown (Wilma), and Steve McDavid, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Sister Mary Anne McDavid Payne will be missed by ALL who loved her.
