Mrs. Linda Barnes transitioned to her heavenly home on January 10, 2025. She was born on October 3, 1949, in Cavendish, VT. was the daughter of the late Maynard Emery, and the late Gertrude Emery. Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother Charles Emery.

Survivors include her son Andy Barnes (Norah), and two grandchildren, special friends Louise Noland-Smith (Leo), Chris and Ann Proudfit of Newman GA., Annette Huntley of Fletcher, NC, Llyn Benett of Proctorville, Vt., Lovie Elliott of Arden, and Marie Parizo of Quechee, VT.

Linda worked as a substitute teacher in Augusta, GA. She was a very active volunteer and actress with The Augusta Players, Inc., where she performed in plays such as Nunsense, Fiddler on the Roof, Dearly Departed, Hansel and Gretel, and many more.

She was a jokester who wrote beautiful poetry and will truly be missed!

A Memorial Service to honor the life of Linda will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Skyland First Baptist Church (2115 Hendersonville Rd., Asheville, NC), at 1pm. Pastor Robert Ponder will be the officiant.
