Leonora CaSandra "Sandy" McClain - Mujica

Leonora “Sandy” CaSandra McClain-Mujica, 50, gained her wings Sunday, January 31, 2021. She was a devoted mother to her son Joshua, and loved her family and friends. After a long journey with her illness, GOD decided she had struggled long enough. She was born November 14, 1970, and was a CNA for more than twenty years in nursing facilities and private homes. Sandy  loved her work and gave it her all at all times, and always showed care and compassion to her patients. Among many other things, she will be missed for her smile.

She was preceded in death by her father Leon McClain, and brother Dwayne Wilson.

She leaves behind her loving son Joshua Marquis Mujica who adored her, her mother Vickie Hemphill, step-father Jamie Hemphill who was dedicated to helping to care for her, sister Nisha McClain of Arden, brother Benjamin McClain (Angela) of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, nieces Tatianna Sizemore of Mooresville, NC,  Ashanti Chadwick of Arden, Trinity McClain of Philadelphia, MS, nephews Aaron Chadwick of Arden, Tristen McClain Philadelphia, MS, uncles Stuart Griffith (Kim) of Hendersonville, Bryant Edgerton (Jean) of Chesapeak, VA, Carl Wilson (Danielle) of New Jersey, Linnon McClain (Gail) Brickton, aunt  Mary Collins (Harry) of Fletcher, Great Aunts Sarah Weston Hart, Joyce Oliphant (Bernard), and Gloria Sandford of Asheville, and  many cousins and friends.

Graveside Service for Ms. Leonora "Sandy" McClain - Mujica will be held Tuesday February 9, at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery located in Mars Hill, NC. Viewing will be held at Avery's Memorial Chapel from 4pm to 7pm on Monday February 8. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's FB page.
