Lawrence Peterson was born September 28, 1949 to the late Elizabeth Peterson, and was raised in Asheville, NC. Lawrence attended Burton Street Elementary school, Hill Street Jr. High and Stephens - Lee High School, until he decided to join Job Corp in Buck Ridge Kentucky. There he mastered the skill of  servicing appliances. He owned and operated his own business, Peterson’s Appliance Sales and Services for over 30 years. Lawrence often used his business as a ministry, cultivating young men by allowing them to work for him and learn a trade. He was a very hard working man who truly loved what he did. Lawrence was also a member of the “Elite Club” at the Burton Street Center.

Other than his mother, he was also proceeded in death by sister Gertrude Patton, brother Matthew Peterson, and his sons Antoine Peterson and Fred Pasley.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 37 years Mary Peterson, his children  Lawrence Peterson Jr, Cheryl Cooper (Curtis) of Miami, FL, Raushana Dixon (John) of Miami FL, LaReece Edmonds (Niko) of Columbia, SC, Angelina Cobb of Miami FL, his loving brother Ross Peterson (Ann) of Asheville NC, honorary brother (nephew) Gary Whiteside (Debra), his aunt Beatrice McGahee, his mother in law Clementine McFadden, his Godmother Pearly Mae Dixon, his sister and brother’s in-law Bobby Miller, Leatha, and Terry McKnight of Miami, FL, LaTonya McKnight of Asheville, NC, Tracy Powell (Rod) of Miami, FL, Carrie, Darlene McFadden of New York, NY, Vernetta Lawhorn (Frankie), Doreen McFadden, Cheryl (TJ) Nesmith, Lisa Anderson all of Hemingway, SC,  James(Andre) Pasley of Miami, FL, Henry JE, Willie, James McFadden (Kendra) of Hemingway, SC, 19 grandchildren Fredericka Pasley (Atrail), Cherish, Famous, King, Karter, Kamden Pasley, Kobe Shivers, Ashley, Antonio Peterson, Loaghan Cobb, Jamie Miller, Ashley King, Shakina Russell, Micheal Harrison, Quindarius, Kamarius, DeAndre, Destiny, Desaray Mackey, Ja’Cara Dixon, 4 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and special cousins,  Blanche Smith, Jannie, Bridget Washington, Cindy Thompson, and Reggie Moore.

A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Lawrence E. Peterson will be held on Saturday, September 25th, at 1pm at Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church located on 100 Carroll Ave. The memorial service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Face Book page.
