Laticia Nichole Salters formally of Asheville, NC, was born on October 31,1972. She gained her wings for a better place Thursday June 29, 2023, in Winston-Salem. She was the only daughter of the late Curtis Salters Jr., and Renee McCoy.
Tisha was educated in both Asheville and Reidsville, NC. After graduating, she became a CNA until her health failed. She grew up as a member of Nazareth Baptist Church where she sang on the choir.
Other than her father, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Alphonso and Rosebud McCoy, and Curtis Sr. and Betty Salters.
She had two special cousins, Kelly McCoy Kendrick, and Shawna Davidson Bynum. They grew up together as cousins / sisters / best friends. They were always jealous of Tisha because she could sing, and they could not hit a note. When singing, they would never let Tisha have a microphone. Instead, they always gave her a hairbrush because there were only two mics.
Left to cherish her memories other than her mother are her three daughters whom she cherished to the fullest, Lanitra Miller, Tania Boyd, and Kimberly Boyd all of Winston-Salem, sister Courtney McCoy Martin of GA, one nephew, several aunts, uncles, other cousins, special friend Reginald Boyd, and numerous friends in Asheville and Winston-Salem.
A Memorial Service to honor the life of Laticia Salters will be held Saturday July 8, 2023, at World Wide Baptist Church (85 Choctaw St. Asheville, NC), at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the family or Russell Funeral Home in Winston Salem, NC, to help with funeral cost.
