Larry Williams Obituary

Larry Jerome Williams was born October 30, 1959 and went to be with our LORD on Thursday, January 23rd..

He was a native of Asheville, where he attended the Asheville City Schools and graduated from Asheville High School in 1978. While there, he played basketball and ran track, and was considered one of their most talented athletes.

Larry was a longtime resident of the South Side neighborhood, but he also lived in multiple states such as Florida, Arizona, Washington, and Virginia. He was known for his well maintained Afro and an infectious sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his father John Williams, mother Clara Alice Bowditch Williams, and brothers John Williams Jr. and Darrel Maurice Williams. He was also preceded in death by grandmothers Lizzie Myrtle Wright and Sarah Metz, and a nephew Jeremy Williams. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Keesha Williams Jordan (Ronnie) of Morganton, son Larry Jerome Williams Jr. (Mishia) of Georgia, the mother of his children Diana Robinson, brothers Sherman S. Williams (Kim), Spencer A. Williams, Monte D. Williams and Mark A. Williams (Diane), five grandchildren Kyah, Ronnie Jr. and Sheldon Jordan, Larry Jerome III and Milan Jahstaria Williams, one great granddaughter Lendlee Phillips-Rice, a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Larry Jerome Williams will be held on Wednesday January 29th at 11am, at the Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 238 South French Broad Ave.
