Konata Ajamu, affectionately known as "Lover," because of his kindhearted soul, K-MAN, King-K, Ajamu was born in Yuba City California birthed by his Loving parents Alice Faye Steele and Lonnell Debnam.
He attended grade school in Chico CA, and Asheville NC where he was an outstanding sportsman in football. Konata worked for the California Forestry Department where he helped fight fires. He also worked for the Goodwill. He had an extreme passion for music and enjoyed producing his own original material. He was a beloved father who enjoyed spending time with his children, his family and his friends, simply laughing, dancing, and creating memories...many would say that he moved to the beat of his own drum.
Konata is survived by his father and stepmother, Lonnell and Genevieve Debnam, son David Ajamu, daughters Kiani and Kalia, grandson Adrian, and brothers and sisters Tracy, Michelle, Monique, Monte and Anika. He was preceded in death by his beautiful mother Alice Faye Steele.
Konata's family and friends are deeply saddened by this unexpected loss. He will be deeply missed. He will be laid to rest during a private family memorial.
