On July 28th, 2022, Keyshon Floyd Hawkins, Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew and beloved best friend to those that knew him, suddenly passed away at the age of 22.
Keyshon was a native of Asheville, NC. During his time here, Keyshon continued to break generational curses by graduating from TC Robinson High School in 2018. He was a very talented and creative artist. If you were to give him a microphone, he might even be able to say a few bars. But with a pencil and notebook in hand, there were no limits to his imagination. The characters he was able to draw and create were a testament to his gift.
Keyshon will forever be remembered by his mother Stephanie Hawkins-Watson as her “giver child.” He gave to those in his life without question. Keyshon would give his people the world if he could.
His energy was unmatched. Whether he was randomly busting out a dance move, or a song lyric, it was guaranteed to make anyone laugh. As loving as he was Keyshon was a protector, a guardian, kept a close knit circle, and he will continue being our guardian angel in his next life.
Keyshon was the middle child, but with a personality like his, he could never be ignored or overlooked. His siblings, Ordashia Hawkins, T. J. Saxton, Lawrence Gardner, Teane Hawkins, Karena Hawkins-Porter, Jaelyn Nichols, Dametrius Nichols, and Darschae Nichols, will remember Keyshon for who he was, and the smiles he brought to their faces.
Keyshon was proceeded in death by his father Haywood (Jerome) Nichols, uncle Nathaniel Crosby, and close friend Kavon Clayton.
We are honored to have known and loved Keyshon. He will forever be remembered by his extended family and dear friends.
A Funeral Service to honor the life of Mr. Keshon Hawkins will be held on Thursday August 4th at Worldwide Baptist Tabernacle (85 Choctaw St.), at 1pm. He will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page. Viewing will be held on Wednesday August 3rd from 2pm - 7pm at Avery's Memorial Chapel.
