Karah Dequan “Bam” Anderson was born on April 28, 1983, and departed this life on January 24, 2026. He was born to the late Ms. Kecia Anderson and the late Mr. Keith “Keddie” Mosely.
Bam was known for his attitude of taking charge. He loved his family and always made sure everyone was taken care of. He always had a smile on his face, and loved cracking jokes (he was his daddy made over). Karah graduated from Asheville High School in 2003, where he played football on and off the field. He later became a big part of parks and recreation as a coach and was very involved with children in the community. They listened and really looked up to him. He didn’t care if you were family or not, he would chastise you with love and care when needed.
Bam was big on family! There was nothing in this world he loved more than his two kids. The close bond of 20 years he shared with their mother Shareka Scott, was the epitome of the term Co-Parent. He loved his siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins beyond measure, and would step in and step up to make sure they were taken care of. He loved his “step” mom Teresa to the moon and back, and ALWAYS made sure she was taken care of as well. Karah was a dedicated father, brother, son, nephew, and friend who was loved by everyone he encountered. Bam will truly be missed by all.
Other than his parents, Bam was preceded in death by his brother Keith Anthony “Deuce” Mosely, paternal grandmother Suetta Mosely, maternal grandmother Minnie Lee “Dutchess” Anderson, grandfather Robert “Skeet” Mosely, aunt Suzie “Sissy” Mosely, and uncle Robert “Junie” Mosely.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are “step” mother Teresa Mosely, mother in love Gwen Scott, his daughter Karah’yah Unique Anderson, son Karah Dequan Anderson Jr., “step” son Zamar Vae’qan Scott, mother of his children Shareka Scott, sisters Korrenn Anderson, Korrdorra Anderson, Nara Anderson, and Ceisha Robbs, brothers Kedric Justice, Kenneth Robbs and Kendrick Robbs, aunts Diane Whiteside, and Antonette “Tonya” Cunningham, uncles Luther Anderson, and Nelson Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close family members, and many MANY friends!
A Funeral Service to honor the life of Bam will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church (146 Pine St.), at 1pm. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the service at Sunset Cemetery. Viewing will be held at Avery's Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 12pm – 7pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
