John Harold Daniels of Black Mountain departed this earthly realm on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Veterans Administration Hospice, in Asheville, NC. He was born on November 17, 1954, to the late Eunice Ann Daniel Logan and the late John Harold Keeter.
Harold was a veteran serving in the United States Army from 1974-1977. He worked at the Black Mountain Neuro Medical Treatment Center from where he retired in 2017.
He was preceded in death by his biological parents and adopted parents Charles and Annie Daniel, sisters Brenda Mathes, Eunice Daniel and Teresa Daniel, and brothers Charles Luther Daniel, Jr., and Brian Christopher Daniel.
Harold was a faithful member of Catawba View Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the Senior Choir, the Brothers N Christ, the Hospitality Committee and the Deacon Board.
Harold leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife of 26 years Christina Daniels, children Celisa Daniels of Alabama, Chanell Daniels of Marion, Ra-Sheila Roberts of Asheville, Adrian Daniels (Sherri) of Old Fort, John Harold Daniels, Jr., of Marion, Robert Daniels of Greensboro, Antonio Sirmons of Texas, and Tamara Young (Tonio) of Fairview, sisters Beverly McMilliam (Roland), of Old Fort, Marilyn Logan Brown of Old Fort, and Valarie Hamilton of Charlotte, brothers Richard Daniel (Mary), of Rockingham, Ray Daniel (Felicia) of Forest City, Anthony Daniel of Clayton, Thomas Daniel (Audrey) of Old Fort, and Travis Daniel (Ana) of Hendersonville. Harold also had three Keeter sisters and four Keeter Brothers to cherish his memory as well. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service to honor the life of John will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Catawba View Missionary Baptist Church (141 Albert Joyner Sr. Rd, Old Fort, NC), at 1pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Western Carolina State Veteran Cemetery in Black Mountain at 10am on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. Viewing will be held at Avery's Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 1pm – 7pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
