Joe James Adell, faithful servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, departed this life on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. He was born on June 22,1929, and was the son of the late Rufus and Virginia Adell. Joe was proceeded in death by his lovely wife Margaree Adell.
He was born and raised in Western North Carolina, and retired from GE of Henderson County. Joe was known as "Granddaddy" and "James," the patriarch of Allen Drive. He was a devoted member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served on the City-Wide Usher Union, the Trustee Ministry and Usher Ministry for many years.
Grandaddy enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. He liked to fish, hunt, mow the lawn, and loved gardening and raising his cows. He impacted the lives of many by being a role model and sharing his honest but blunt wisdom. His acts of kindness and Godly stature was radiant and inviting for all who met and knew him. Joe will be cherished and remembered by family and friends forever.
Those left to treasure his memory include two sons James Adell (Angie) and Dougie Adell (Beth) of Fletcher, NC. Grandchildren Levette Adell-Campbell, Patrick Adell, Jade Adell, Dakota Adell, Jacob Adell and Danielle Adell, along with a host of great grandchildren including Jermaine, Dana Jr., Justin, Amari and many other friends and loved ones.
A funeral service to honor Granddaddy will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Fletcher, NC at 1pm. Visitation with the family will be held from 12pm - 1pm. He will be laid to rest immediately following the funeral. The funeral service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
