Javaris Hines

Javaris Hines aka Chips, aka by his Rap moniker "Finesser Laflare," went to be with our LORD on February 22, 2024. He was 29 years old. Javaris was born in Asheville on September 19, 1994. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather Ray Whitson, great-grandmothers Elizabeth Whitson and Hattie Louise, great-uncles James T. Hines, Michael L. Whitson, Franklin Hines, and Dennis Goode, great-aunts Carolyn Battle, Margaret Goode, and Almeanor "MiMi" Hines, and nephews Phillip Bowden and Kevin Goode.

Javaris was a part of the Asheville High School class of 2013. He received his GED and several other certifications from the Job Corps. He had many talents and at one point, aspired to be a rapper. He wrote several songs that his family will hold dear as cherished memories. Javaris was a very handsome young man who loved fashion and was intentional about his and his son's (Twin) Cin'cere's appearance. One of his favorite things to do while spending quality time with his son was travel to Atlanta for a day of shopping and getting their locs done. Javaris had a sweet
spirit and was very generous. If he had it, you could get it. Although Javaris was trained in job corps for many trades, something about a boat intrigued him. He was very proud of his career choice as a cargo agent for the past seven years. He worked on several ships, where the last company he worked for was Imperial River Transport.

Javaris shared a special bond with his grandmother Barbara, and no matter how far the boat took him, he was sure to check in with her every day. He always ended their calls with "I Love you." He Spent his final days doing what he loved. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by all.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother Michelle Whitson, father James Robert Hines, son Cin'cere Dupree Ikeen Stover, grandmothers Barbara Whitson and Odessa Hines, sisters McChayla Whitson, Shakeira Whitson, Rhyan Whitson, El'Jireh Hicks, and Cassie Grace Hines, brothers Marteise Javon Hines, Marquez DeAndre White, Marqua Robert Hines, and Caleb Robert Hines, uncle Michael K. Whitson, nephews Jace Mills, Kyrus Whitson, and Taurice Cave, cousin Ashur Eddings whom he lovingly called his nephew, special cousins Zamiya Whitson,
Makiya Whitson, Tahzyah Whitson, Latoya Hall and Gwen Hines, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration. WE WIN!!

The Whitson Family Will Receive Family and Friends on Tuesday, March 5th, and Wednesday, March 6th, at 13 Guess Ct., Asheville, NC 28806. The Hines Family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, March 6th, and Thursday, March 7th, at 279 London Rd Asheville, NC 28803.

A Funeral Service to honor the life of Javaris will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at The Refreshing Center of Asheville (826 Haywood Rd) at 2pm. He will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. Viewing will be held at Avery's Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 12pm - 7pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page. Repast Celebration will be located at Reid Center 133 Livingston St.
