Jacqueline Ann Smith was born in Asheville, North Carolina, on March 23, 1952. She transitioned to her heavenly home on November 27, 2024.
Jacqueline, also known as Jackie, graduated from Asheville High School in a class of 1969. After graduating, she worked for the Asheville Linen Service, then as an after-school educator, retiring after over a decade in education. Her selflessness and compassion were evident in all aspects of her life, as after retirement she adapted the role as caretaker for her family members, including her siblings and parents.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roosevelt Smith; three brothers, Leon, Midnight, John Mosley Jr.; two sisters, Frances Smith and Betty Jean Mosley; Niece, Margaret Louise Mosley-Robinson; and Parents, Eva Sullivan and John Washington.
Left to cherish many fond memories are her sons, Jermaine and Terje Mosley of Asheville; daughter, Tracey Shaw-Mosley of Charlotte; Granddaughters, Imani Mosley of Durham, Tatiana Webb of Charlotte; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service to honor the life of Jacqueline will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church (100 Carroll Ave.), at 12pm. She will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be held at the Western Carolina State Veteran Cemetery (Black Mountain), at 2pm. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Avery's Memorial Chapel from 1pm - 7pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
