Jabril Omari Lee Patterson affectionately known as “Bril” entered into eternal rest on November 26, 2021 at Mission Hospital. He was born in Charlotte, NC to Marquita Taylor and the late Patrick (PJ) Rice, Jr. He was raised in Asheville by his grandmother Darlene Carter.
Jabril was an 8th grade student at Valley Springs Middle School. And to his best friend/cousins Ja’ryn Darity and Kayden Williams he was the “put the plan in motion,” “I got us a ride” and “y’all can spend the night," young man.
Jabril was preceded in death by his father Patrick (PJ) Rice, Jr., grandfather Walter Hill, great grandparents Willie and Dorothy Carter, Dorothea Rice and Sallie Mae Rice.
Left to cherish his memory is his mom Marquita Taylor (Travis James), sisters Aionna Hyatt, I’anya Rice, and Melody Sarratt, grandparents Darlene Carter, Darlene and Jerome Penland, and Patrick Rice, Sr., great grandparents Annabell and Joe Taylor, and Marie Hill, uncles David Carter, Joe Taylor, Jr., Eric Hill (Tracey), Michael Hill, Steven Hill (Pamela), Walter Hill, and Shakel Hill, aunts Ebony Thompson, Nakisha Taylor, Tykisha Leach, Carolyn Maples (Willie), Jackie Chambers, Teresa Tolbert (Ricky), Ebony Grimsley, Shakita Hill, Cynthia Drane, Tawana Rice, Lawana Rice and a host of cousins, family and friends.
