Ja'Von Brown Obituary

Ja'Von "Rockstar" Brown was born November 12, 1996 to Clarenda Hines Alston and Lamont Brown in Asheville. He was a very outgoing young man who never met a stranger, lit up every room he entered, and had a  humble heart and compassionate spirit. Ja'Von had a love for life and a joy in his Spirit which he spread everywhere he went. He gave his life to Christ at a very young age, and daily lived a Christ driven life. His love for the Lord was evident by the love he showed the world. An extraordinary young man, Ja'Von left his beautiful footprint on the hearts of everyone he came in contact with.

He attended Biltmore Church in Arden, but was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. This is where he found his passion for drama and dance through VBS plays, and Christmas and Easter presentations of which he looked forward to yearly.  Ja'Von was in many drama performances and chorus recitals at Enka High School where he graduated from in 2015. Though he lived such a short life, he lived it to the fullest. Jay enjoyed playing baseball, football, basketball, ran track, and played drums for Enka Middle and High schools. After graduation, he participated in many performances at the Asheville Community Theater (ACT). Ja'von also had a passion for cooking, and spent a year in the culinary program at Asheville Buncombe Technical College. He blessed so many with his creative cuisine.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Clarence "Paw" Hines Sr., paternal grandmother Veronica Galloway, and aunt Nachele Forney.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother Clarenda and stepdad Leon, father Lamont, brother Kevin Hines of Asheville, sisters Jada Owens, Kiara and Deisha Alston, Keona Coleman all of Asheville, Symphany Williams of Houston, TX, and Dezariah Brown of Charlotte, his loving girlfriend Sarah Baird, aunts Tanya Marvel's (Walter) of Charlotte, Antoinette Hicks and Vernette Griffin both of Asheville, uncle Clarence Hines Jr. (Felecia) of Asheville, best friend brother Kelly Brendell, and many other relatives and friends.
