Harry “Grip” Griffin, Jr., was born Nov. 17, 1965, to the late Harry Griffin, Sr., and Gertie Chambers Griffin in Asheville, NC. He passed away at Mission Hospital on March 29, 2023, surrounded by family.
Harry attended school in the Asheville City School System and graduated from Asheville High School in 1984. After graduation he attended North Carolina A&T State University. He worked hard and did everything he could for his son who loved him to the moon and back. Harry was a member of St. James AME Church and attended when he could.
