Harry Douglas Ervin, affectionately known as “Bo,” was a faithful and devoted servant of the Lord. He was born in Asheville, NC, on July 8, 1945, and departed this life to be with the Lord on October 16, 2025.
Bo graduated from Stephens-Lee High School in 1963, where he led his baseball team to a State Championship in Wilmington, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ervin Jr. and Mary Peeler Ervin; and his siblings Violetha Creswell, Patricia Ervin, Wandra (Dinky) Ervin, and Sandra Tobe.
Bo leaves to cherish his memory his children:
Alesha (Torrey, Atorra), Duan Avery-Duckett (Lowell; children Tyler & Grey), Marlon Patterson (Bobby Dill; Glen, KJ), Toni Morgan (Lee Aiken; child Sha'Keiyra), Harriet (Bianca), and Anika. He is also survived by his sister Rosa Davis (Sharon, Audra) and brother Harold; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, his former wife Carolyn Ervin, and many cherished friends.
Bo faithfully served his community for many years, traveling from coast to coast using his handyman skills and sharing his wisdom with all he met. His legacy of service, kindness, and humor will be cherished forever.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service to honor Harry will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Shiloh Center (121 Shiloh Rd), at 1:30pm.
