Frank “Tommy” Smith 

Sunrise: August 4, 1952 - Sunset: May 20, 2020

Frank Thomas Smith best known as “Tommy,” loving father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, transitioned to Heaven on May 20, 2020. A veteran of the US Air Force and a retired employee from the Charles George VA Medical Center, he was born to parents Luther Smith Jr. and Ava Louise Gardenheight Smith. He was proceeded in death by his parents and a brother Alvin Smith.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Kinta Bowditch, Melissa Lindsey (Derek), Francesca De’siree Smith and January Carter, sister Jenelle Walker, brother Lenon Smith, a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Frank Smith will be held on Thursday May 28th at 1pm at Beulah Chapel F.B.H. Church located at 120 South French Broad Ave in  Asheville. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be Friday May 29th at 10am at the Western Carolina Veteran's Cemetery in Black Mountain. Viewing will be held on Wednesday May 27th from 12pm - 6pm at the funeral home. The family would like to express our sincerest appreciation for all of the thoughts and prayers during this time. The service will be streamed live on the Avery's Memorial Chapel FaceBook page.
