Obituary

Elder Victor A. Burgin. Sr. entered this world on July 20, 1959 and exited this world on February 16, 2022. He was the son of Mae Lee Stamey (Crocker) and Clyde E. Burgin Jr.

Victor Burgin was a graduate of Richard Lee High School class of 1974. He entered the United States Air Force after graduation and served as a Medical Service Specialist and received a medal for good conduct.

On Jan. 3, 1976, Victor accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior.

After serving in the Air Force, Elder Burgin resided in New Haven Connecticut.  In 1976 he was called into the ministry and served at Trinity Temple COGIC. In 1980 he was licensed as a minister and ordained as an Elder in July 1981 while living in Connecticut.

In 1992 Elder Victor Burgin returned to Asheville NC.  He served faithfully at Sycamore Temple COGIC under the leadership of Superintendent Samuel L. Payne.  Elder Victor Burgin served on the Elders Board, Mission to Men, Trustee Board, Director of Christian Education, Prayer Warrior, and was a Board Member for Grace Community Development. He also served in the Asheville District (Land of Sky) as a member of the Finance Committee. As Aaron was to Moses, Elder Burgin was Pastor Payne’s side kick. Anyone who knew Elder Burgin knows he “truly” loved the Lord, his brown eyed wife Frances, and people. He didn’t let his health stop him from spreading The Gospel until God called him home on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Elder Burgin was proceeded in death by his parents Mae Lee Stamey (Crocker) and Clyde E. Burgin Sr., brothers; Cliftin Burgin and Clyde (Chuckie) Burgin Jr.

Left to Cherish his memory is his wife Frances Burgin, children: Natisha Vidal (Robert), Victor Burgin Jr., (Yvonne), Brittany Burgin-Angus, Chalah Burgin (Rick), Tracy McAfee, Stephanie Burgin, Scott Burgin, Victoria Burgin, Aaron Burgin, Seneca (Lisa), Antwan, Nakeisha, Quiante, Baby Palmer, brother Kevin Burgin (Keisha), sisters; Carol Strong (Jim), Michelle Burgin, God children; LaTonya Barrett, Vicky and Verna Williams, Shatoya Parker, a host of grandchildren, great grands, other relatives, and close friends.
