“BOSS HOG”
Earl Conley Jr., of Asheville was born August 4, 1938, in Yancey County, NC, to the late Earl Conley Sr. and the late Etta Henderson-Conley of Mars Hill and Burnsville.
He attended the Historic Rosewell Elementary School in Mars Hill and would go on to later graduate from Stephen’s Lee High School in 1958. He shared a blessed life with his inseparable better half Frances Louise Payton-Conley. Their union held strong for 55 years until her death did them part in 2012. Earl worked 54 years as a Road Developer for Biltmore Estate & Co. where he retired in 2003. He would then run a paper route for The Citizen Times as well as a joyful bagger at Ingles. Earl was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Other than his parents and his loving wife, Earl was also proceeded in death by his son Edward Conley, and sister Catherine Higgins.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother Harold Conley, sister Floree Lawry, sons Earl S. "Tony" Conley (Sherrie), and Chris Conley, daughter Natasha Conley, grandchildren Rodriquis Conley (Sharette) and Franita Conley (Calvin Sr.), great-grandchildren Kamiah Conley, Makiya Foster, Chaylin Madden, Calvin Madden, Jr., Caleb Madden, Khalil Conley, Keion Conley, NyAsia Conley, Nariah Higgins, Kalise Conley, Shanice Smith, Selah Smith and Xiangelys Conley, great-great-grandchildren Le’Anni Ward and Se’anna Stone, and daughter-in-law Pam Conley.
A Funeral Service to honor the life of Earl will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (537 Concord Rd. Fletcher, NC), at 12pm. He will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be held at the church cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Avery's Memorial Chapel from 1pm - 7pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
