Doyle Morgan Obituary

Doyle “Joe” Morgan, 86, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on September 18th, 2023. He was born in Tennessee, raised his family in Michigan and spent the last 16 years in Fairview North Carolina.

Doyle Joe Morgan was born in Tennessee on June 15th, 1937, to Pearl and Frank Morgan. He went on to serve in the US Army from 1959-1962 in Germany. He spent most of his life on the road as a Long-Haul Car Hauler for M&G Convoy, where he went by the handle of “The Instigator” in the CB radio days. He was also a very vocal Teamster Union Rep for many years, and he continued to meet with the group of guys he worked with whenever he was in Michigan.

Joe Morgan loved his family, enjoyed hiking and was never happier then when he was on the road traveling across the United States with each one of his kids. He knew the small roads of America like the back of his hand and loved taking them. He was an avid reader and knew a little something about everything, which he contributed in his weekly trivia games at the bar with family and friends.

He never turned down an opportunity to help one of his family members. He moved adult kids across the country more times than we can count. He built decks, rebuilt houses, took care of grand kids and said “yes” to all the Casinos and Dairy Queens he passed by. He has organized and reorganized all of our garages and just pitched in every time we asked him to. He passed on from this world knowing he was loved and feeling lucky for the life he had lived.

He is survived by his five children: Joe Morgan, Jr., and wife Mary Morgan, Karen Morgan and husband Steve Kruse, Ken Morgan and wife Denice Morgan, Steven Morgan, and Michael Morgan. He remained friends with his ex-wife Mary Morgan, six grandchildren: Jonathon Morgan, Gregory Morgan, Carter Kruse, Lucas Morgan, Sierra Kruse and Joshua Morgan that he loved so much, and new great-granddaughter Sophia. He is also survived by 5 wonderful siblings: Evelyn, Linda, Lois, Travis and Jewel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

While we grieve his loss deeply, we take comfort in knowing that his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
