Derrick Lamar Pearson (Do It Do It) was born July 29, 1987 to Ruth L. Largin and Alvin R. Pearson. He transitioned on October 19, 2020 at Memorial Mission Hospital.
Derrick was a son, wonderful father, and a strong hardworking man who was employed at Silver Line Plastics. His smile could brighten any room and the sparkle in his eyes would let you know he was blessed. He would help anyone he could with anything. Music, reading, singing, dancing, and being a father and grandfather is what he enjoyed most. His love for his kids as well as others was out of this world. Derrick's nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart. His favorite football team was the Steelers, he stood firm on his beliefs, and he had just begun his journey as a counselor for the youth. Derrick was a blessing to us all, to know him was to love him, and he will truly be missed.
Derrick was preceded in death by his son Javeon Pearson.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother Ruth L. Largin (Rickie D. Mills), father Alvin R. Pearson Sr., (Sophia), fiancé Jessica Penland, children, Embria Wells, Heff Pearson, Cash Shivers, Nyqua Shivers, and Devonte Pearson, granddaughter Ca’Laney McAlpin, sister Keoda Brown, brothers Toney Young Jr., Torean Young, Alvin Pearson Jr., and Shamar Powell, aunts Mildred Largin, Janet Cofield, Sharon Pearson, Andra Pearson, and Sandra Pearson all of Asheville, uncles Clifford Largin of Germany, Johnny Largin, Charles Johnson Dank Pearson, Derrick Pearson all of Asheville, Emerson Cofield of Austin Texas, and Loyde Largin of Orange Texas, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
