Derrick Lydell Flack, 61, transitioned peacefully at home.

He was a native of Asheville, North Carolina. The son of LaVinard Flack and Dorothy Jean Simpkins Flack.

Derrick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Terease Dill and brother Dwight LaVaugh Flack.

Derrick affectionately known as “Solo” was a lifelong resident of Asheville NC, and briefly stayed in Washington DC and Lackland Airforce base in Texas.

He graduated from Asheville High School in 1978 and immediately after graduation he joined and graduated from Lackland AFB in Texas.

He was in construction, specializing in brick masonry.

Solo was a fun loving should who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also loved basketball and billiards, as well.  Solo would debate anyone on world news and other topics.

He will be dearly missed.

Surviving family left to  cherish his memory is his son Prince Rafel Rashad Arman Flack, daughter Michole Denise Wallace Flack, sisters; Debra Flack Weaver (George) of Asheville, NC, Delilah Tunderlier Bowen (Gregory) of  Lanham, MD, Deneatria Flack of Greenville, SC, Dureds Flack Webb (Kendrick) of Grand Rapids, MI, Karen Jackson Smith (Theodore) of Asheville, NC, grandchildren; Syncere, Knowledge, Maurey (Juice), uncles, cousins, and special friend Keith.

No formal funeral service will be held. Family and friends will have a small repass at the Shiloh Center on Sunday September 17, 2023 from 1:00pm-4:00pm.
