Deonte` James Ellison

Deonte` James Ellison was born on November 13, 2000 in Hendersonville, NC and was a resident of Buncombe County.

He was a phenomenal athlete playing baseball and basketball since the age of 4. He continued with his love of baseball by playing for the Asheville Atlanta Braves, Blue Ridge Smoke, Dirtbags, and Buncombe County Schools. Deonte` played his heart out and gave it his all. He received numerous awards, trophies, homerun balls, game balls, and recognition. He always swung for the fence and would throw you out in a heartbeat! He was also a very talented football player.

His greatest love was his family, especially his little brother. Not only was he the epitome of a big brother, he was Ayden's friend and protector. Although they were several years apart in age, they could not have been closer in bond.

Deonte` is survived by his mother, Syreeta Ellison and brother, Ayden; grandparents, Pearl and Robert Ellison; uncle and aunt, Eugene and Angela Ellison; and a host of other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Viewing for Deonte` James Ellison will be held Monday May18th 12pm - 6pm, and Tuesday May 19th 12pm - 6pm. He will be laid to rest during a private family service. The service will be broadcasted live on Facebook via the Avery's Memorial Chapel Facebook page beginning at 1pm.

You were in our lives from the day you were born.  You were not only our grandson – you were our son.  You brought joy and laughter into our lives, as well as into the lives of those who knew you best.  We will love you forever, miss you every minute of every day, and remember all the wonderful moments we shared. All I can say is I am sorry that I could not be with you when you needed me the most.  I am sorry we could not have one more hug, one more kiss, one more call, one more moment.  What we did have was 19 years where you were a blessing.  Your smile could light up a room, your heart was made of gold.  You will forever be in our hearts and never forgotten.
