Mrs. Delores Romaine Ray Robinson, 67 of Asheville, North Carolina gained her wings peacefully on Tuesday November 23rd at Memorial Mission Hospital. She was born October 10, 1954 to the late Roy Ray and Pauline Horton Ray of Mars Hill, NC.

She was educated in Mars Hill Elementary School and later, her family moved to Asheville, NC where she furthered her education.

She loved to cook, and retired due to her health. Pye worked various jobs as a cook at The Laurels of Green Tree Ridge, The Brian Center, Mission Hospital, Hill Street Day Care and others.

Pye was a faithful member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Asheville. She loved the Lord and everybody she met. Pye will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was also proceeded in death by a brother Larry Ray, several nephews, uncles, aunts and grandparents.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Robert Robinson of Asheville, two daughters Tanya Hemphill (Shalton) and Leslie Drummond (Shannon), both of Charlotte, grandchildren Terica Hall (Saviroes) of Charlotte, Larry Ray (Ashley) of Asheville, James Griffin of Asheville, Daisia Drumond and Devine Drummond of Charlotte, twenty-two great grandchildren, brothers Rev. LeRoy Ray (Burney) of Hyattsville, MD, and Bishop William Ray (Brenda) of Asheville, sisters Essie Greene, Bertha Mathis, Loretta Douglas, Joyce Oliphant (Bernard) and Gloria Sandford all of Asheville, and Wanda Woullard (Antiono) of Gautier, Mississippi, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Delores "Pye" Romaine Ray Robinson will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, December 1st at Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church located at 146 Pine Street in Asheville. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral. She will be laid to rest immediately following the funeral at Mt. Olive Church Cemetery in Mars Hill. The funeral will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
