Deborah Elaine Ivey Williams age 72, went home to be with our LORD on Monday March 13, 2023. Born December 22,1950, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Ivey, Sr., and the late Fannie Ivey - Bethea. She was a proud member of the South French Broad's graduating class of 1969.
As a young woman, Deborah loved singing. She will forever be remembered and cherished by her family through the beauty of her voice. Being the youngest of many siblings made her very strong and very outspoken. She was well known in the community for her smile, as well as her ability to make you laugh. Deborah's true joy however was the joy of motherhood and being a grandmother. She and her daughter Jackie were very close and loved each other dearly. Her grandchildren cherished each moment spent with her because she always brought smiles and laughter with her.
Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother Lawrence Ivey, Jr., and sisters Christine Jowers, Lucille Ivey, and Carrie Ivey.
Deborah will be lovingly remembered and extremely missed by her daughter Jackie Robinson (Eric, Sr.), grandchildren Christina and Eric Robinson, Jr., great-grandchildren Zayden "Boopa" Angram and Montrell Van Parish - Robinson, sisters Harriett Mattthews, Jacqueline Bradshaw, Geneva Ivey, and Barbara Daugherty, nieces Cassandra Benton, Elizabeth Ivey, Jennifer Daugherty, Denise Dukes, and Myra Norton, and nephew Charles Smith, along with many other close family members.
Ms. Deborah Ivey Williams will be laid to rest during a private family memorial.
