Debbie J Keaton

Debbie Jo Keaton passed away from this life into the eternal presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday March 1, 2024, after several years of declining health.

She was born on September 24, 1956, in Marion, North Carolina to the late Jack O Keaton and Rosalee Logan Keaton. She was the fifth of six children born to the union of Jack & Rosalee Keaton. She graduated from McDowells High School in Marion, North Carolina in 1976. After graduation she was employed at C&A in Od Fort, North Carolina. She also was a faithful employee of Walmart's for many years. She was baptized and a faithful member of Catawba View Missionary Baptist Church, were she served dutifully as an usher on the Usher Board for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Jack and Rosalee Keaton, one sister: Patricia Overstreet. She has left to cherish her fondest memories, two children; Courtney Hannon of Asheville, NC, Jaron Keaton of SC, two brothers: Otis Eugene Keaton, Sr., (Lewana) of Old Fort, NC, Jacob Nathaniel Keaton of Tampa, FL, two sisters; Kristie Lytle and Jacqueline Keaton of Old Fort, NC, two grandchildren; Karter and Lena, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Debbie "aka" The Business" grew up in Old Fort where she never met a stranger. She was well known throughout the community and often spent her time visiting neighbors in the community. She had a lively spirit and an infectious smile and was often caught laughing about something funny she heard. Her favorite saying was "I Hate It" which caused those who knew her to smile.

A Memorial Service to honor the life of Debbie Keaton will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Catawba View Missionary Baptist Church (141 Albert Joyner Sr Rd, Old Fort, NC 28762) at 1 pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
