Darriann Chantel Waters gained her wings on Saturday, September 23, 2023. She was born on April 15, 1991. She was the daughter of Lydia Nannette Hallum, Darren Waters, and Dean Roberts (God Father). She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Lillie Mae and Carl Dale Waters, uncle Clifton Hallum, great-grandmother Nannie Hallum, and aunt Ann Hallum.
Darriann was an example of Gods unconditional love here on earth. Her smile and laughter warmed every soul she encountered. Her presence radiated every room she entered. She successfully completed a certified nursing assistant program at AB-Tech Community College, and was a loving CNA who was compassionate and dedicated to her patients and profession. She went above and beyond to provide exceptional care.
Darriann was a loving daughter, sister, auntie, and phenomenal friend. Left behind to cherish her memory are her parents, her maternal grandparents Cynthia Elizabeth Hallum and Thomas Lee Rhymes, her children De’Jhan Peak, Summer-June Peak, Eri Lee, and August Waters, her siblings Kenderick Hallum, Jerick Campbell, Demitrick Waters, Darren Waters Jr, Julian Waters, Raymond Waters, and Caleah Hallum, aunts Shameika Rhymes, Shalonda Rhymes, Faith Robertson, Shemiah Robertson, Allene Cresswell (Henry), Sharon Waters of Hendersonville, NC, Verneice Waters of Charlotte, NC, and Joann Waters of Gastonia, NC, uncle Keith Waters of Atlanta, GA, godmother Rosalind Robertson, godparents Kendra Harbison, Dale Scott, Alton Scott, Neco Wells, and Lindy Brown, several aunts, uncles, 4 nephews, 3 nieces, multiple cousins, and more friends than you can name!
A Funeral Service to honor the life of Darriann will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church (146 Pine St.), at 2pm. She will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Viewing will be held at World Wide Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church (85 Choctaw St.), on Thursday October 5, 2023, from 1pm to 7pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery’s Memorial Chapel’s Facebook page.
