Da'Jour Damian Edwards

Da’Jour Damian Edwards, 25, of Asheville, went to be with our LORD March 18, 2024. He was born July 25, 1998, in Asheville, to his parents Demetria Davis and Alton Hoover.

Da’Jour is a 2016 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School. Da’Jour is known for his talent and skills on the baseball and  football field, playing many positions, but well known for his raw talent on the field as a running back, To know Da’Jour was to love him. His smile was bright, even in the darkest times. He was a protector by nature and when he loved, he loved. We want to remember him as the bright, loving, caring, sweet, hilarious and protective son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend that he was. 

Da’Jour was preceded in death by his Maternal great-grandmother Anna Katherine Smith, Paternal great-grandparents Bufford Williams, Ila Faye Evins, and Harry and Loretta Jones, as well as his uncles Walter Davis, Gregory Davis, and Micheal (Scoop) Davis.

He is survived by his parents Demetria Davis, and Alton Hoover (Tiana), sisters Da’Juana Edwards, Imani Hoover, brothers Zhyelle Royal, DJ Green, grandmothers Deborah Bryant, and Kathy Jones, Grandfather Edgar Bryant, aunts Cindy, Lakeshia, Zantora, Cynthia, Kiana Brown (Jamie), just to name a few, uncles Damian, Brandon, Yamir,  Bryant Keith, great uncles Alvin, Darrell, and many others on both sides of his family. 

A Funeral Service to honor the life of Da'Jour will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Worldwide Missionary Baptist Church (85 Choctaw St.) at 11am. He will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
