Charles Thompson Obituary

Mr. Charles "Tank" Thompson, Jr., gained his wings on Thursday August 4, 2022. A native of Asheville, he was the son of Mrs. Olivia White Young, and the late Charles Thompson, Sr.

Tank was a loving father, brother, and an amazing friend to many. He never met a stranger and was guaranteed to make you laugh. He was also a 1988 graduate of Asheville High School. He truly loved his family, was an avid animal lover, especially his dogs Rex, Polo, and Louie. He was widely known to also love the Atlanta Falcons!

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Irene "Peaches", sons Charles "CJ" Thompson, III,  Simeon Thompson, Marcus Thompson, and Ronnie Fortune, two grandchildren, mother Mrs. Olivia White Young (Claude), brothers Paschel "PJ" White, Jr. (Jasman), Perez White (Kelly), Antonn Bailey, Tromarco Thompson, aunt Marian Bailey-Allen, uncle Robert Bailey (Janet), of Junction City, KS, and a host of many other family members and friends.

Other than his father, he was also preceded in death by grandparents William and Mozella Bailey, and uncle William Hartsell Bailey.

A Funeral Service to honor the life of Mr. Charles "Tank" Thompson will be held Saturday August 13th at Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church (146 Pine St.), at 2pm. He will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Sunset Cemetery.
