Catherine Sadie Montgomery

Mrs. Catherine Montgomery went home to be with our LORD on Monday July 29, 2024.

Catherine Saddie Brooks Montgomery 95, was born on February 9,1929 in Forest City to the late Arthur and Bertha Hayden Brooks. On July 29,2024 God called her home and said, "Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant".

She was a rock and inspiration for her family. Her guidance and strength that she bestowed upon her family has been never ending. The endless love, and warmth will forever deeply be cherished in our lives. Her special love and gratitude for the friends in her life meant very much to her, (special friend Johnny Grooms.) Her home was always open, her hospitality no matter who you were brought so much joy in her soul.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Montgomery, Stepmother Gertrude Brooks, 5 brothers,Thurman,William,Sam,Joe,and Dupree Brooks. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Steffon Montgomery.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her devoted children, Frances Stepp, Joyce Kilgore, Samuel Montgomery, Jr. ( Rita), Annette Forney (Stanley), and Danny Montgomery. Sister, Mary Smart, Sisters-in-law/Brother-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews,other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service to honor the life of Ms. Catherine will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church (100 Carroll Ave.), at 12pm. She will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be held at the Western Carolina State Veteran Cemetery at 2pm. Viewing will be held on Monday August 5, 2024, at Avery's Memorial Chapel from 1pm - 7pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
