Catherine Galloway transitioned to a more peaceful and heavenly place on Friday May 1, 2020.
She was born on December 7, 1947 in Asheville, to the late Eugene E. Galloway Sr. and Edvina Williams Galloway. She completed her early education in Asheville City Schools and was a graduate of Allen High School in 1965. Catherine was a long-time employee of Burlington Industries before the closing of the facility, and later retired from Continental Teves after several years. She attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Asheville until her relocation to Suwanee, GA where she attended Suwanee Worship Center. Affectionately known as "Bird" to her family, Catherine had a great love for sports but none greater than the love for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters Ellen Brantley, Freddie Mae and Edvina Galloway.
"Bird" leaves a legacy of love to her beloved daughter Monica (Ronald Sr.) of Suwanee, GA, grandchildren Alyxis, Amari, Ronald Jr., Ryanne, and Aliyah Foster, brothers Eugene (Elizabeth) and Johnson “Tobey" Galloway of Asheville, sister Ruth Anne Harris of Philadelphia, PA, aunt Lenora Williams of Philadelphia, PA, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Viewing for Ms. Catherine Galloway will be held on Thursday from 9am till 6pm, Friday from 9am till 6pm, and Saturday from 12pm till 3pm.
