Carmen B. McDowell left us peacefully on Thursday, February 27,2025, at the age of 64. She was a hard-working individual whose dedication to her career was matched only by her love for the ocean, and the calming shores of the beach.
Throughout her life, Carmen gave everything to her work as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). She never shied away from a challenge. Her tireless commitment and strong work ethic earned her the respect of her colleges and the admiration of all who knew her.
Carmen was preceded in death by her son Damian Foster, and her father Julius McDowell, Sr.
She is survived by her mother Helen B. McMickens, Five Brothers, Five Sisters, her life partner of 37 years David Beasley, and a slew of nieces and nephews.
Carmen leaves behind a legacy of devotion, both to her work and to those she loved most. Her memory will be cherished by all the lives she touched.
Carmen's family will have a Gathering of Remembrance to honor her on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Grove Street Community Center (36 Grove St.), from 3pm to 6pm.
