Betty Ann Metz Lester entered the world March 10, 1934 and departed this world July 1, 2021. She was the mother of seven children who loved her dearly, and she was the highlight of their lives. She retired from Greater Buncombe Opportunity Corporation after 30 years of faithful service helping those in need, and touching so many lives in the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Melvin and Aileen Metz, brother Charles “Sonny” Metz, husband James Lester, Jr., and other relatives and friends. She now joins them in Heaven.

Left to cherish her memories are her children Windy, Vickie Charlotte, Rodney (Diane), Wanda, William and Melvin Lester, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great- grandchildren, other relatives and close friends.

She will be laid to rest during a private family memorial.
